The Stories of Those Who Dream and Hustle Coming This Summer…

This summer, I’m planning to release a collection of stories including some many of you are familiar with. It will be an e-book release and it will be one of many publishing efforts you see coming your way. There are a lot of projects I have been working hard on and hoping to have them all out later this year. I will be sharing the whole project development of this e-book to help others understand the process and I’m actively learning as I go along. Many of you guys know I been writing stories on this blog and to be honest, I built up a nice collection of stories, many have not been published and some have been banned and self-censored because even I cannot even believe I went there. For example, I written a scene where non-Black media executives of these so-called Black blogs with fictional names like The Herb, the Rio and NoirVocal come in and basically pick which Black writer they want to take in the copier room and have their way with them while the other Black writers just write up the BS they write everyday. That scene was so brutal that I couldn’t publish that in an e-book: Mr. Goldberg stepped out of the copier room with his pants unzipped and belt unbuckled after having his way with Ramo, the senior editor at The Herb. He looked around and saw the Black lesbian writer who writes anti-Black male articles giggle and he instantly sneered at her. “What the hell you laughing at Sponge Broad Square Butt!! You can get some too, you know!” Mr. Goldberg warned as he buckled his pants and left the office. Mama Winnie, as she is known among the staff at The Herb was an older Caribbean lady who tends to the victims after they been violently sodomized in the copier room by the non-Black owners of The Herb, the most popular Black intellectual BuddyPress blog on the Internet. Mama Winnie had some wet towels in her hand as she walked to the copier room to clean up Ramo who was still inside crying and coughing badly. “It’ll be alright, Mama Winnie will take care of you..” she says next to the copier room door hoping to calm Ramo down before she entered. The other workers looked on to see if Ramo would be able to walk out on his own. Mama Winnie looked at all the co-workers and told them to get back to work and the workers got back to their desks and resume writing articles for the Herb. Mama Winnie, still holding the wet towels in her hand slowly opened the door to the copier room and when she saw Ramo, she screamed “OH MY GOD!” and dropped the wet towels on the floor. So as you see, this is the type of stuff I had to cut out because the scene before that piece above was extremely graphic and explicit of what happened in that copier room of these so-called Black intellectual blogs owned by these non-Black media companies. But anyway, the e-book that I will releasing will be many of the stories I written before that are totally revised and expanded upon but some new stories. Here are the stories that will be in the upcoming e-book: War and Hustle. A young couple in love leaves their Tacoma hometown to start a new life together. After things do not work out, the young man decided to join the military and they live on base. He is deployed to Iraq where he will be put to the test of combat and real battle. Back at home, the military wife been reading Dream and Hustle and decided to start a self-checkout market operation and titled pawned her husband car to raise money. Can she get the car title back before he return home? A Tokyo Story. Tired of being unemployed and living in Ohio, a brotha decided to learn how to program and create an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) framework and land an exciting opportunity in Tokyo. In Tokyo, he discovers his true love and hip-hop in this East Coast Meet East story. A Tale of Two Sistas. Two girlfriends working in downtown Atlanta among mass layoffs and economic uncertainty take two different paths to handling the situation around them. One of the girlfriends decided to quit and start up a food truck business while the other stay and wait for severance package. A Tale of Two Brothas. Two roommates living on the West Side of Chicago going to Malcolm X College and working at a shoe store on Madison and Pulaski have their friendship challenged when one want to do for self and pursue bigger and better things. One roommate decided to create a mobile payments and prepaid card service based on the West Side of Chicago like he read in Dream and Hustle while the other brotha just doubted his friend and focused on doing the same ish, different day. Only the Hard Will Hustle. Two Atlanta brothas after quitting their job at a Black blog owned by a non-Black media company decided to start their own business. One of the brothas inspired by Dream and Hustle decided to open up a tobacco/porn mag kiosk in downtown Atlanta while the other brotha wanted to participate in some fried fish franchise scheme a radio show host called Bill Warranty was hustling to his audience. Turning the Sign. A sista who spent the last five years working at the makeup counter wanted to know how to start her own business. She tried multiple channels from family, reading hustle bloggers to networking before coming across the information she need to get started and her journey was anything but straightforward. Hustle for Self. A sista from Hayward started dating this entrepreneur featured in a 2.0 Black Web Sellout blog and convinced him to start an e-commerce business in Oakland with TIF financing. This story is about an eye opening experience on staring a technology business in the Black community and how they discovered the true opportunities and hidden gems that exists in our inner cities. All of these short stories are part of a collection of one e-book that will be released this summer. These are not the same stories you read on the blog – they have been totally revised and expanded for the e-book. A lot more details and depth into the characters that a blog article does not have the space will be available in the e-book edition. I will give out more information next month but just want to let you cats know how we are stepping up the game around here. There is also another rumor going around about a Dream and Hustle print magazine later this year and that is true – I will bring that up in a few months but there are some other things we have to work on now.
