Rise to Power: Learning to Read Micro Expressions
During the Atlanta Mayoral Election coverage, many of us watching Andre Dickens victory speech picked up on the activity going on in the background by one person. I’m going to provide the video for you to watch as well but you going to see someone drawing too much attention to themselves as Andre Dickens was celebrating one of the biggest rises to power in his lifetime.
In the video you are going to see a guy pacing back and forth, acting frustrated and flustered on the stage behind Andre Dickens. Looking at the dude, he kinda looks like Andre Dickens brother but I’m not sure but they resemble each other as siblings.
I know this kind of behavior and this is what you see as you rise to power – you going to discover everybody was not on the team and some of them didn’t want to see you make it like you made it. That is exactly what that dude in the background was doing and I saw exactly what he was about because I see it over and over again when folks start making it big and rising to power.
When you rise to power you have to learn how to read people because you cannot trust anybody at face value; no different than playing poker and learning how to read other players. You have to learn to read people's faces and actions, not what they say or them just being around you. This is a technique called observing micro expression behavior, someone everybody does that reveal who they really are and how they really feel.
Micro expressions are facial reads that can occur quickly in milliseconds and they reveal what a person really feels within those milliseconds before they get a chance to fake or modify their expression. There is no way to prevent a micro expression because it is the brain immediately telling the body and face how to express. Those who understand how to read micro expressions can see exactly the emotional state of people they are dealing with.
In the photo above – notice how the two women in red happy/admirable facial expressions towards Andre Dickens and look at the facial expression of the dude in the back that looks like Andre Dickens brother – they got the same beady eyes and nose so I think they related. Remember this is the happiest, defining moment of Andre Dicken's life with his victory speech. At this moment that is a stage design for Andre Dickens platform, look at the expression from the dude in the back.
Andre Dickens has won the Atlanta mayoral race by a landslide in a runoff election, securing a mandate that Atlanta wants a new face in City Hall. This is a good sign based on other elections that Black voters and Democrats are tired of the scams of telling Black people to keep voting for the same old folks like Felicia Moore who I heard wanted to shut down the strip clubs. Felicia Moore was the one who got rid of former Atlanta school supervenient Meria Carstarphen, an awesome lady who help changed APS around and was a positive influence – bye Felicia.
If you watched the video there are two people on stage, former mayor Shirley Franklin and current Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. Did you notice Andre Dickens started thanking everybody and did not even acknowledge Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms? I was like oh-no bro! That was the second dumbest mistake he made during that speech; he did a really dumb mistake we will cover next. But there is a reason I’m pointing out a former and current mayor on stage – the situation was already covered by the mayor security detail - why was that dude running around back and forth like the head of Secret Service drawing disruptive attention to himself while Andre Dickens was talking?
The biggest mistake that every eligible high net-worth Black man noticed immediately was what Andre Dickens said about that fine light-skinned sista. He called her his “girlfriend” on a national stage while she was by his side celebrating his victory. That ain’t no girlfriend Mr. Dickens and if she is your "girlfriend", she can easily be another man’s woman and shining light because she too damn fine to be referenced as a girlfriend.
Those punk teenage water boys got girlfriends; that right there is a woman and if you don’t want her as a woman, plenty of brothas in Atlanta can step up to the mantle and will never call that caliber of a woman a girlfriend. I wouldn’t be surprised if she gave Andre Dickens a piece of her mind for saying something like that.
The funny part about “girlfriend” is she was noticing that dude in the background moving all over the damn place like he forget where he placed his ADD meds. She started looking at him with a big smile and was giving that look – we brothas know that Phyllis Rashad look where she smiling while expressing what the hell are you doing, brotha? Again, look at these facial expressions to the whole event where Andre Dickens is celebrating the biggest moment of his life and giving a victory speech to the people of Atlanta.
Why is this character in the back holding his hand to his head while mayor-elect Andre Dickens is giving a victory speech? What is the “worried dude” so concerned about and drawing attention to himself on a high visible stage? He is supposed to just stand there and give attention to the man of the hour but he is back there being a distraction and disruption. I think you see what’s going on.
What you seeing what you need to be aware of as you rise to power in this world. You will find out those people you have around you cannot cope with your climbing to the top. These folks never thought you would actually make it and they hide in your camp doubting and resenting your rise to the top. Then when you ascend to power, they cannot handle it and they try to make themselves a distraction and disrupter to your journey and will undermine you.
The guy in the back didn’t give a damn about this man and his moment of the hour and his victory celebration. He was back there pacing around, distracting and disrupting because that is obvious what kind of character he is. He is not important; he didn’t get elected but he is just behind Andre Dickens back looking mad and acting kinda self-important on Andre Dickens stage. This is exactly how folks will try to come at you and you better recognize this.
It is very important on your ascent to the throne that you be very aware of how people act on your team. Learn to read their expressions – this man in the background expressions is blatant and should never made it to the victory lap. Andre Dickens would be a fool to keep this guy around and if that is indeed his brother, the mayor-elect should already know he going to be a problem because he doesn’t understand how to stand down and let the man of the hour speak to his people and his team, making a scene in the background. That’s poor discipline – cut that clown loose immediately.
When you get to the stage of the game, you going to see folks around you acting weird from the inside and the outside. You got to learn that the throne has a seat for one person and that the throne is only for you to sit down and put on your crown and rule your empire. Learn to read everybody faces who come across you, learn how to read micro expressions. You may not know this but some job interviews record interview candidates and replay 1/25 second to view micro expressions to see if they dealing with a nutjob or someone who looks normal. Media interviews with important people try to ask stupid questions to invoke micro expressions to capture the facial expression as a photo spread to criticize or celebrate someone.
I have to chuckle at folks trying to reach me and think I’m going to roll with someone over the Internet when I don’t know their micro expressions, lol. Learn to look folks in the face and they look you in the face so they can recognize you about this and you realize they not about that. Because if you don’t catch the quiet haters early on, they will show up at the right moment when you are at the top or the person of the hour.
