Pivoting to Prepare Our People for the 2020 Great Reset

I have gone to the shopping mall to buy some clothes knowing it was likely a fire sale to offload all of the spring fashion not sold during the coronavirus lockdown. I was not ready for what I saw and I thought I saw it all. What I saw at the mall, and knowing what I know, we are already in a beginning stage of an economic Depression that is going to have massive impact on everyone. It looks really, really bad out here and I don’t think the majority of Americans got a continuity plan that is going to deal with this economic meltdown we are going to deal with from June to December of 2020.

Dream and Hustle for the past 12 years have been referring to Noah Ark as an analogy to what’s going down and been telling black Americans to prepare and prep. What black Americans decided to do between 2010 and 2019 decade was follow the ramblings of charlatans on YouTube, fake like they got money and got businesses and good jobs that are resilient to economic downturns and acted like they fancy trying to gaslight me and you in a comment section that they got money and hustle. Well, that Great Flood about to happen and I know 100% how those 2010-2019 black folks going to end up because me and you know they haven’t built anything.

For those reading this and want to make sure they can make it through what we are about to go through, I want to say you may be in better shape than you ever were in your lifetime if you navigate this upcoming period correctly. In this article, we are going to talk about how to set yourself up to make it.

Please Note. This is that moment in history you learn to cut off clowns talking up nonsense in the black community, within your family and at your hair salon and church or at work. Before the storm, black folks who are powerless and helpless like to pull you in with denials and trying to block you from your blessings, growth and development – you learn to start cutting off fools showing up in your social media direct message or trying to call you up and talk like things are normal – no, you better take this upcoming stuff serious because your survival is at stake.

We Are Not Entering a Great Recession, We Are Entering a Great Reset

If you look at what COVID-19 has done to the economy, it driven people to engaged in digitized communication from video streaming, social media, remote work, buying online and pick up and more. If you look at the businesses that are failing or shut down, they did not have a digitized system in place with their customers – it was all manual walk-in, sit down, walk around. But if you look at all the businesses that are winning, McDonald’s, Wal-Mart, Amazon – they had digitized systems to allow people to pay contactless, pay and pickup and logistic system running in the background.

What we are witnessing is a Great Reset – we are looking at the whole world switch to mobile-first commerce and less physical interaction. You need to understand what’s about to get reset to know how to get into the lane where you going to be on the good side of that reset. This means you have to understand the economic outlook.

Will Not Have a V-shape Economic Outlook

You may have heard economists on television talk about we are probably going to have a V-shape recovery – this is so far from the truth. What we are going to experience is a backslash, underscore and forward slash economic outlook for the next 2-3 years.

Backslash Period (). We are going to see a period of decline. Businesses are going to shut down, people going to be laid off. Nobody is safe as this is going to be a global meltdown.

Underscore Period (_). People are going to be marginalized and stay marginalized due to obsoletion and creative destruction. They are going to be a permanent underclass and these are referred to as a Lost Decade.  Even if they have “skills” there is simply no opportunities available for them.

Forward Slash Period (/). These are going to be the people that see the slate has been clean and it’s the perfect time to start brand new at the dip. These people will rise to power taking advantage of the paradigm shift and become successful because they have little competition and obstacles in their way up.

At the time of this writing, you should already know who going through that backslash period within the black community. These are the “rent-seekers” from Cultural Marxists Africans and Caribbean trying to replace ADOS and failed miserably, the black Boule trying to re-invent itself through propaganda, people working fancy titles at jobs that were not essential and stuck-up chicks working jobs as bartenders, retail stores and call centers acting too good for the good brothas.

The sad situation is we going to see a very nasty environment in the black community with chicks turning tricks, brothas turning to crime and drugs, kids going to see their parents no longer acting right and everybody in the black community just acting foul towards each other.  Black folks who been acting stupid going to realize they are not ready for 2020 and they will come after anybody handling theirs. You better go really quiet, focus on your own family and your own circle during this period and go ghost.

How to Prepare for the Great Reset

Dream and Hustle is going to focus on helping those who want to be helped understand how to not go down with the rest of the clowns we got out here. Be mindful the key thing everybody trying to make it must understand is knowing how to reinvent yourself and adapt to the current environment and maintain who you are.

The biggest mistake I see in the black community is the willingness to just stay where they are and expect change to revolve around them. No, you may have to pack up and move, you may even have to go overseas but you are going to have to go where the opportunities are at. Growth markets are going to get clustered in zones during an economic downturn and create boom micro-markets while other places will go bust.  Trust me – this is the number one reason the majority of black folks are going to stay marginalized – but remember even we black folks had to leave the South to find jobs in the North and West 100 years ago.

Here is a short list we will cover in detail of what you need to plan and prepare.

Understand Opportunity Markets. Cloud computing, automation, Agile, retail transformation, membership economy, social media optimization, health technology is going to be hot sectors because businesses are going to have to be leaner and more efficient. You need to pursue certification or start businesses that facilitate these opportunities as consultants.

Liquidate. Convert and liquidate everything because only a fool thinks their 401k will just be normal when everything goes to hell. One lesson from past recessions many black folks regret is they should have cashed out their 401k with penalty or leave in a cash account because they literally lost it all and cannot retire. Sell everything you can and convert to cash and stash it, don’t tell anybody either. Invest in solid assets such as precious metals that is more resilient to hold value. Be mindful with 17 trillion of money printing and inflation, your dollars may not hold the same value in the short-term future.

Cancel All Negative Media. There should be no black person talking about CNN, Wall Street Journal or what they saw on MSNBC or reality TV – this is not the time for games.  In fact, no one should even have a TV cable bill which is silly as hell, that’s grocery money! Instead, focus on YouTube and educational streaming media to learn new skills or lean true trends and real news that matters to you. Cancel negative black radio as well. You need a positive mindset and don’t need outsiders polluting your mind.

Drop All Deadweight. It’s a lot of people you personally know who show they are indifferent to you. If you call them but they don’t call you, cancel them.  Focus on the 1-2 people that really reach out to you in a genuine matter and stop well-wishing and being nice and start looking at reality. If they are not initiating conversations with you, not reaching out to you, then forget about them because you are going to need all the energy and time to focus on yourself and your family, don’t get distracted.

Close in the Family. One problem from the last recession that devastated black families and communities is people stayed loyal to their mortgage payments and that house. In a Great Depression, it is literally stupid to sit there and figure out how to pay full-price on a mortgage or luxury rental apartment. Instead, get the family together and get to a house that everybody can afford to live in and make it a safe space so no one in your family or circle can worry about being homeless.

Prep. This means learn how to eat and live off the essentials. There used to be liberal complaining you cannot eat off $2/day – oh, yes the hell you can eat off $2/day and here is a secret – you spending more than that, you are not eating healthy and you know it. Also learn to de-clutter have only essentials in your home to prepare to move when you need to or have to. Get in the mindset of detaching yourself from materialism and have only the basic minimal items to survive and carry yourself through the day.

Dream and Hustle will cover all of this and more in great detail as we move towards this Great Reset event. A lot of us are not going to make it and a lot of this is outside of our control. Too many of us in the black community are chasing stupid stuff and talking stupid stuff. But some of us, if we learn what are the opportunities from the paradigm shift and transformation will be doing very well for ourselves and our inner circle.

So let’s get ready to prepare for this Great Reset and make sure we make it work for us, not against us.
