We are looking at the grasping of straws of this current generation of Black institutions and Black culture that built nothing but feel entitled to everything. This Tik-Tok boycott of Target over DEI is just another goofy attempt like the 4B movement that will wake the sistas up.

I want to stress what I keep saying in the podcasts – you sistas have been in a downward spiral for years that is accelerating fast in 2025. This Target thing is not the battle or the focus for you sistas – you have a lot more serious issues to think about.

I want to explain why boycotting Target because they terminating their DEI program is both ineffectual and a waste of time. Sistas, you got a lot bigger problems to worry about in 2025, trust me.

First, Target Long Divested from the Black Community

Target done more than had a section to sell goofy Black books and Alibaba/Temu-grade Black beauty products. Target had built stores within inner city Black communities. Are we forgetting what happened to the stores in Harlem and the South Side of Chicago? All the shoplifting and vandalism going on?

Target as well as Wal-Mart closed those stores down after giving the Black community a chance. Yall disrespected these big box stores trying to provide our Black community with closer access to food and goods. Target cancelled you a long time ago, you not cancelling Target. If anything, you running out to the suburbs to shop at Target, be honest.  

DEI Should Have Been Temporary

I do not understand the argument about Target shutting down the DEI program. That was supposed to be a stepping stone to get Black products into stores. The long-term goal was to phase out DEI and fully integrate these products into the main supply chain.

But guess what? The Black entrepreneurs did not innovate or did anything to stand out and just focused on that special “DEI” space Target reserved for them. Creating beauty products was cute at first, but Black entrepreneurs were supposed to grow and they have not done that.  The only reason our people are mad about DEI because they saw it as a free ride, not a stepping stone.

BIPOC in the House!

What part of 2025 you don’t understand that the Democrats and liberals worked to have you replaced with people of color and BIPOCs? The Democrats brought in 20 million or more migrants into America to dilute Black Americans into a generic “people of color” label. And yall still voted for Democrats in the 2024 election.

They don’t need Black money anymore, they got millions of migrants from Ukraine, China, India, Venezuela with $40k of your taxes in their voucher account to spend at Target and those BIPOCs are not shopping at the DEI Black section in Target, trust me.

You sistas still think they care about you; they were using you as a token being Black and a woman. But they got other women now to use for diversity. I truly see Target looking at Asian women and their shopping habits and will start catering to them. You sistas have lost all leverage just like you lost all leverage dissing your own Black man.

Focus on Building Your Own Foundation

Sistas, you were supposed to progress and upgrade once you got a chance. You only had really 12 months of a DEI program then you supposed to have lined up bigger deals and bigger plans on your own.

The strategy was you were to improve your supply chain, your running capital, setting up direct-to-consumer at a bigger scale. The end game of DEI is your product is supposed to be included with the other competitors and you are competing with them. But you all did not do that – you sat on those DEI sections waiting for Black History Month to come around.

DEI is a come and gone window of opportunity that you were supposed to grow up from. Now you acting mad they taking it away reveals you were sitting on your behind and not scaling up to the next level or being competitive with the mainstream. That is not a good look.

I hope you all trying to boycott Target for DEI realize you look embarrassing and a bygone relic of Black grievances that no one is going to care anymore. Because I want to be very frank with you – you Black folks supported the Biden administration and ignored he was supporting the killing of women and children in Gaza with American-made bombs – no one out here going to feel sorry for you after you supported Biden and the Democrats like that.
