How 250+ Blog Postings Can Set You Good for the Rest of Your Life

This topic was discussed over 10 years ago on Dream and Hustle. I mentioned this when people were going crazy over Twitter when it was in its early years. I saw people constantly micro-blogging on Twitter all day long, using SMS to publish – back then, tweets had a 256-character limit for SMS text messages.

I explained to them that bloggers like myself who write genuine topics and research can gather enough content to be set up for the rest of our lives by repackaging our content and reusing it over and over. That was the old Dream and Hustle where I have over 800 articles I posted and I still have them archived and safe.

The problem is most of those articles were me ranting a lot, dissing folks and the tech stuff was early-stage development where most of the content was pre-COVID and likely not sustainable in a post-COVID era. But from 2017 when I restarted Dream and Hustle on this new format, got with my Japanese boo (yes, we have been for each other since 2017, time flies, doesn’t it?) and got grounded, I chilled out and wrote more substance-based content. People around me be reading this blog, including girlfriends and families, and professional colleagues who be sneak-jealous around me.

I did not blog as often with this new Dream and Hustle but the 250+ articles are better quality. In addition, they are so good quality, I’m in an excellent position right now where I can use AI and machine-learning tools to analyze and re-use them which is what I’m doing at the moment.

This article is trying to explain something to you – I have advocated over the past year that your retirement may not need to rely on 401k and IRAs in the 21st century. Your goal should be to retire on intelligent farming of content and the distribution of content. If you do that and it can be at any age, even if you're 62 and don’t have enough in retirement, look at content instead of trying to find a get-rich scheme.

Think about comedians like Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Steve Harvey, Katt Williams, and Bernie Mac – they made a lifetime career based on their comedy skits, topics, and discussion because they created content then package it up to become radio hosts, have syndicated sitcoms, write books, make blockbuster movies and more. Eddie Murphy even released two music albums with his hit record “Party All the Time” with Rick James  - that shows you how you can scale with content.

These relationship folks that be talking on YouTube are the same way – they all rehash the same relationship advice and they are operating like comedians as well. I mean, we know these relationship characters are all a joke but they entertaining, an audience out there trying to motivate and give relationship advice. They can write books, have counseling sessions, and more.

In 2023, you should be involved the great content rush with the maturity of Generative AI. See right now if you are smart and sit down for a few hours, you can plan a real content strategy with AI tools at your disposal.  So that means you can side-hustle by data-mining content and topics using Generative AI and start becoming a lifelong subject matter expert on that topic.

What I’m doing now with my 250+ articles is I’m using my own data science tools to scan all of the content for keywords, and topics and I’m organizing them. I talk a lot about trends and entrepreneurial business models and they are showing up I’m getting recommendations from the tools suggesting new topics by researching the web as a bot. Now I have more topics and content that I can create videos, podcasts, and articles on and I can get highlights of these topics to create an outline or script for production.

250+ articles I wrote give me more than enough of a dataset to show what I really like to talk about such as urbanism and futurism where I can focus on these topics and reach a bigger audience. I can keep writing books and be an old man where in the future, some AI will be able to learn my style and publish a version of my works automatically just knowing my perspective and my style. It’s no different than everybody out there performing their version of Beethoven and Bach pieces hundreds of years later.

This is one of the things I kept in my when I designed the new platform to help people become either digital nomads or passport bros and I wrote several articles on this theme – creating content. I have first realized this many years ago when I was in the Tokyo Ginza area walking down the street and saw an elder Japanese woman wearing sophisticated clothing modeling on the streets with a young female photographer. I knew she had an audience and she was making good money in her retirement age doing what she was doing.

Overall, think of topics you like, think of who you follow, and what they are talking about. Learn to reverse-engineer their content and then craft that content to your personality and your presentation. Then focus on the platforms and medium you like to communicate your message. Personal finance, dating, entrepreneurship, peace of mind – become a guru master of the content topics. Then use Generative AI to help you create content and show you the possibilities of how to present your message and brand to others with that content.

Then focus on paid content models to make money. Make sure the content has a long shelf-life that people can read for the next 5 years such as finding a job and growing in their career. Put yourself in a situation where you can move and buy properties around the world and enjoy your life while the content is making money for you through sales worldwide.

That may be the secret that many people don’t realize is the key but if they wait too long, everybody going to be doing it. The time is now to start considering your retirement plan may not be retiring but just having a lifelong content machine to keep generating content for you to package and sell for the rest of your life.
