How We Plan to Deal with that Other 2020 Problem Facing Our Community
Let’s not fool ourselves, the year 2020 is about to get really, really bad. The coronavirus fallout was unexpected, particularly the economic fallout of shutting down the economy for a few weeks. If the figures regarding 30% unemployment rates which appears likely to happen, it will be literally a Great Depression going on, a devastating one.
Coronavirus was not the biggest factor anyway; we already knew this level of marginalization was going to happen in a few years but coronavirus came in and made it all happen right now in 2020. The real long-term marginalized threat was machine learning and automation where robots take our jobs, yeah those robots going take our jobs!
We are going to have to create a strategy to fight not only the coronavirus and the economic fallout in 2020; we are still going to have to fight that big problem facing us and that is the threat of automation. Replacing front-line service workers with kiosks, building and designing using artificial intelligence, virtualization of machine voice and facial recognition to interact with people.
Economic Devastation
Someone from the Federal Reserve stated the current trend of business closures in 1st quarter due to the coronavirus can lead up to a 30% employment rate in 2nd quarter. This 30% number will be devastating meaning black unemployment will be as high at 50% to 60% proportional. And black businesses will shut down left and right very fast as most of them are non-essential. This coronavirus-related business closure event was unexpected and not prepared for. Almost immediately, black unemployment became real at the service working level.
But that is just the phase one of the devastation in 2020, the second part may be worst – you probably won’t have a job to come back to. Because machine learning did not stop growing exponentially and learning how to do workflows and value stream delivery because of the coronavirus; they working in silence getting smarter by the hour. So, when the coronavirus dies down, people thinking they coming back to jobs, they going to find out their job has been made redundant by digitalization; what they been doing in Europe in 2019 that they were planning all along to do in 2020 in the USA.
Rebuilding Without You
Here is the truth about you and everybody else – between 2010 and 2020, most of you decided to chase nonsense on social media instead of handle your own personal business. Meanwhile some of us between 2010 and 2020 have been handling our own business and planning our continuity during a period of major paradigm transformation. And as a result, some of us are ready and some of yall are not.
I’m going to say something personal about yall – a lot of yall had some real attitude and ego you could not back up with any skills or muscle. I’m from the West Side of Chicago, I’m not used to being in a greater black society where the majority of yall are bumping gums, fake flossing and got some punk weak-minded attitudes. I’m shocked to see and hear so many weak ass brothas and sistas outside of my Chicago West Side to be honest. Where I come from, people handle their stuff and handle folks in the way as well. I have no personal mercy for cats like yall because I saw too many good cats, real cats didn’t make it out of my hood – just want to level how I really feel about most of yall and your plight.
A lot of yall followed garbage people on social media between 2010 and 2020 and don’t think I forgot about how some of yall acted. Quite simple, we going to be moving on without you and you cats know who you are – go eat off that garbage plate you made because I’m eating off the plate I made between 2010 and 2020 to prepare for what’s ahead of me.
How to Make the Outcome Positive
What the coronavirus has done was accelerate the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It opened up the path to push virtualization, machine learning, streaming and automated value streams. Either the black community was prepared for it or going to be marginalized by this digital paradigm shift. And seeing how the greater black community acted between 2010 and 2020, we know how the community going to end up.
However, we can leverage what we learned here at Dream and Hustle to make our outcome positive and work for us. We stay ahead of the curve on developing platform economies, membership economies, sharing economies and leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning. We use the coronavirus environment to advance framework business models such as logistics, value transfer, recordkeeping and use machine learning to make processes and workflows more efficient over time.
Yall already know we got our business handled over here and we going to make it happen. There is a reason why this blog has traveled to Asia several times (we did 2-3 times last year in Tokyo alone) because we validating our urban economic patterns and practices we learned and adopted and we on the right track. I really like the franchised-based modular barbershop model I saw in Tokyo.
Cannot Save Everybody
This 2020 is going to be more devastating than the 2001 global meltdown after 9/11 and 2008 housing crisis after Obama bailed out the banks. And yall remember people losing homes, single moms living out their cars in the supermarket parking lot, brothas a lot of young brothas living out their cars in home improvement stores parking lots, couples moving back to New Jersey into their mom house with their kids and that ex-office female who thought she was all that at the workplace now stripping on the pole for cash. Now that those previous years – think about what this 2020 is going to do.
We got businesses shut down for weeks – this never happened in any of our lifetime in America or our parent’s lifetime, never! You don’t shut down businesses this long and this many weeks and don’t expect a devastating economic fallout as a result. Not only that, those of us who sitting around working from home due to coronavirus don’t realize machine learning and automation is still in the works to replace us with digitalization.
This means the only ones we got to care about is ourselves especially when we put in work between 2010 to 2020 to handle our business. These other fools were chasing some bullcrap during 2010 and 2020 while we were putting in real work - we owe them nothing. We built ourselves up for the 2020 challenge ahead and we are built for this – let’s go make this happen.
