Dispatch from Tokyo – What I Learned on This Trip that Will Shape 2026

Noticed that other folks to go Japan and start glazing, and then come back with nothing except trinkets and having to pay off their Affirm BNPL loan with interest they took out. It be goofy influencers going to Japan taking selfies, visiting the basic tourist spots, yall be giving them likes and comment section fills up.

But when a real one like me go to Japan, do real stuff, observe and report, transform it into something we can use to benefit our economic growth and development, I get the silent treatment, especially from my own people. Like yall get mad everything yall see someone actually about the life and handling theirs, bunch of funny people we got. But let’s get to the topic at hand.

Tokyo never disappoints in innovation and trends. I believe this is the result of having a continuous improvement feedback loop or kaizen that is both technical and observant.  On the last trip, I was blown away by the new Q-front building that help me reshape our hub model, on the interior side. On this trip, we learned something new and I will cover that new phenomenon that is exciting.

My Announcements

I spent time at my own winter recluse disconnected to focus on strategy planning and got away from all of yall and the rest of the world. It’s a small time, where the locals know me and greet me with respect. Also, this trip was crazy – I ran into my first Japanese date getting off the subway and walking and she standing there on her mobile phone, looked up and was shocked as hell and ran towards me like WTF! I was surprised to see her and realize something.

I’m normalized Japan. I move around Japan like it is a place I’m too familiar with and meeting people that remember me from years ago. I had a conservation before meeting my current love, where the person told me I should move here because I’m too vested in Japan. That is correct – I’m moving around Japan like this is Chicago and I’m 16 years old discovering each side of the city and downtown learning my way around and now familiar and know where I’m going.

There is a strong possibility I’m going to decide to move here – I’m at peace here, focused here at the café putting in work, not thinking about the lack of support by my own people at home. Or it will be a destination where I’m here more often 180 days a year and split between Dubai, UAE. I met a lot of Asians from Tawain and Singapore in passing who told me they setting up in Dubai their tech business – yeah, I’m networking like that in Japan while others just talking up like they special.

Oh, my fault – how do you like Mt. Fuji outside the window at my recluse? Yeah, this give me the peace and focus I need to just plan, build, learn, reflect, and chart a new course with my life. It’s funny how I get to see this then go back to Atlanta and deal with folks who think they bother or faze me in any kind of way. Yall better find your space in this world and do what I’m doing to stay focus on your growth and development and reclaim your peace.

So here are what came out of my recluse and these may sound boring but trust me, these are big deals.

Toshikiso CLI. We will be releasing our command line interface to Toshikiso that allows integration into automated systems and workflow systems like N8N and Jenkins. This is important to perform tasks such as reconciliation, settlement, backend tasks that is part of enterprise automation. Biggest function we using it for is streaming data from your system to our system and back to your system. Biggest example – download advertisement and news media to a hub location jumbotron to play on a screen at a scheduled time.

MochaStar Advertisement and Agency.  MochaStar will be the name of our media division but this is not a new development – it was just formalized. The MochaStar advertisement runs the ad platform which include buying ads and inventory management for touchpoints. The MochaStar agency is the entertainment division – our AI podcasters, AI artists, AI media will all fall under this agency and managed – I expect to take this model here to Tokyo and hire in Tokyo to build up this media division.

Build Automation. I have finalized our build automation tool that can build and have a hub and node location running in under a day – I’m like the Amish in my build skills. This allow us to proliferate our hubs at massive speed and scale quickly. The new tool install the software and data store, then sync from other hubs to build a new site quickly.

Portals. We have several software stacks being released in 2026 I started the groundwork while in recluse. We will have a downloader management system that installs our software and our partner software after purchase and updates to later versions to keep updated. We will have a system that streams our media on smart TVs and have our own streaming platform like Netflix and Spotify.

We definitely moving big next year.

Ash and the Afroasiatic

I want to talk about this cosplay influencer who passed away by taking her own life. Her name is Ash and her influencer handle was squidkid111. Reports are saying she was being cyberbullied and it took a toll on her. I personally don’t accept that narrative and its hearsay – we don’t know what’s was going on through her personal life.

I’m sad to hear she made this kind of decision and want to speak to all the Black cosplayers I see at anime fan festivals, Japan festivals, here in Harajuku and so on. First and foremost, don’t get reactionary or upset at random people online saying anything hiding behind a keyboard. You still see me growing and thriving despite the Black community thinking for years they were going to hold me back and tell me what I cannot do or accomplish – look how quiet they are right now. Yeah, look at them.

I want you cosplayers who love Japanese and anime content to realize there is a bigger movement going on – the Afroasiatic movement that will be manifested in 2026. This is a movement with solid foundation unlike other movements. We got the money, the locations, the innovation, the skills and tech, the jobs and opportunities, the old and the young, the subcultures, the issues and topics we will be addressing on our own. If I’m in Tokyo typing up this blog, showing me chilling at a penthouse with Mt. Fuji in the backyard, then don’t have doubts how the levels of the Afroasiatic movement are manifesting into something bigger.

Don’t think any of you are alone in this – you have elders like me you can always reach out to. I make myself available only in Tokyo and Dubai and I’m in Tokyo now. Keep doing yourself and enjoy cosplay and stand on your business and not worry about what other people think. You are part of the movement and we need you for the bigger collective picture.

Before I heard about Ash, we already had a cosplay Black woman who was going to discuss utility tokens and talk about our fast token system. Then I realized she kind of look like Ash and this is a pure coincidence but it kind of not. The thing you cosplayers are not realizing is we are blazing new paradigms and trails with Afroasiatic and we going to be doing more Black anime, Black manga, more adoption of this culture into our movement and image.

What I recommend you do is you better start coming to Japan more, walk around and observe and learn and discover things to be part of the economic growth here. You can always get a visa to stay here by going to a school here such as Japan language learning or become a teacher for English or get a job in tech. But you got options and a lot ahead of you and I’m part of that charge – don’t think you are alone and start getting on code with the Afroasiatic movement because I’m not a lightweight and when I said we are building up all over Asia, we doing that.

YouTubers and vTubers

This is the biggest thing I discovered so far on this trip. This blew me away because I did not expect to see this and the dots connected in Japan. The focus on YouTube as a platform to drive fan engagement and media growth is what Japan was doing all along – very smart. It’s a lot easier to build up on TikTok and YouTube, then use passive social media as a newsletter style feed. Then you have a base of customers/followers/subscribers who see the artists in the real world and show up – they build an industry.

Meanwhile in the Black community – they got goofy relationship panels with Aton Daniels talking like he dropping gems, man yall lame and always miss the boat, millionaire mindset my arse. Aton Daniels stayed in Roppongi instead of Hotel Nikko or the Conrad and that’s all I needed to know. Yall follow that while I book my penthouse with Mt. Fuji on my balcony, ok?

But you want to know what was the most awesome thing I saw? Here it is.

This is in Akihabara and I expect it to be in Shibuya and other locations as well? Do you know what this is? This is a vTuber shop – you heard damn right, this is a vTuber store!

I’m only showing one pic because this is a whole article with all the pics. These are not anime characters, these are real people who are vTubers who are live streaming on YouTube, selling their merchandise and likeness in a shop with keychains, stickers, fan swag gear, and more.

They have events for YouTubers to show up and debut their product line and everything. And guess what? The store was packed with people from all over the world and I saw them pointing out their favorite YouTuber! They had life-size standees and fans taking pictures next to them!

These are regular ass people with YouTube accounts with a whole shop selling their image and likeness as fan gear. I wrote this as an article on Clara Ney revenue strategy just to come here and see a whole section of plushies of vTubers lined up against a wall for sale. I already read the research – this is a $100 to $400 million industry in Asia alone. Not even these goofy NiL college athletes got this kind of strategy!  They even had capsule ball machines for these vTubers! I will cover this in detail and will see if there is a vTuber store in Harajuku as well before writing it up.

Road Ahead is AI

If you look at everything I wrote, I kept AI out of the conversation even though it is all about AI. Our Toshikiso CLI is designed to work with AI platforms API and will drive backend workflows in future software development process. The vTubers as I stated before will be replaced with GenAI that can create videos and images that rival vTuber animation technology. But be mindful we can hybrid our models like Clara Ney can be a real flutist in performance and an AI model on the digital networks.

I’m still in Tokyo for a while and still have a lot to discover. But for now, the vTuber economic model is exciting especially as we grow our AI personalities. Don’t forget we will have our own media streaming platforms for TV, music platforms, and car play systems.

If I stay a little longer, I may not be coming back except to sell off everything, because the truth is I’m normalized here in Tokyo and see America as a place I have to tolerate – especially the sistas who think she has the option to not want a Black man who has global options and wear six figure watches laughing at her talking about a man taking a year to earn six figures as her standard, lol.

Remember, I got my peace with Mt. Fuji outside my balcony, remember that the next time she got something to say on this brotha and he got him a Japanese chick to go out to eat after her work and take a cab back to her place.
