Last week, we wrapped up the implementation of our Michi system on our upcoming Kossier platform and prepared for a live rollout. In this article, we want to highlight what’s ahead and what this all means to our Toshikiso ecosystem. 

This will now mark our pivotal shift to monetization and everything in our ecosystem will be monetized. That includes our content including Dream and Hustle - we are already working on the new version that will be more expansive than the current version to mark our 20th anniversary. 

It also means others can now use the Toshikiso service to create monetized business models for their ventures as well. A new day is here in our neighborhood. Let’s discuss how the Michi token economy will work, type of transactions, and the role of AI agents. 

Token Economy 

Tokens is the new monetization model for digital transactions. The old days of freemiums or fixed  monthly pricing are over in the age of AI. Tokens are an accurate pricing of the compute, storage, and network charges in data services. 

With the michi token, a customer pays for a bundle of tokens such as $10.00 USD and get 1,000 tokens. Most charges will be fractional and some will be two to four digit fractions such as .0008 or .007 per transaction. 

Fractional micro-transactions are essential for digital services such as reading an article, listening to a song or podcast. You may think .007 is not a lot but if thousands are using an application with API costs that much and getting tens of thousands of micro-charges, the revenue is significant. 

Almost all AI platforms have moved or are moving towards token credits instead of monthly billing. We have the same transaction model with our Michi token. Toshikiso CLI will be using tokens for AI agents to access and will likely generate more revenue than our content offerings. 

This was predicted a long time ago where we labeled it machine-to-machine commerce. Today, the term is agentic commerce. This is where we can have an agent deliver weather reports to all of our hub's jumbotrons by gathering the weather data, generate speech for the avatar, and generate the prompt for the video of the avatar presenting the weather report on our jumbotrons. 

Type of Transactions

Because we control our token transactions, we can now engage in programmatic commerce to create multiple transaction types. The most common will be the charge where you simply charge $5.00 in tokens for an e-book and it is delivered to the customer in PDF format. 

The hold is putting a temp charge and creating a sidechain ledger to deduct from the temp charge. For example, if someone not a member enters your laundromat, you place a $10.00 hold on their Michi account and charge them $1.50 for a wash, $1.50 for dryer, and $5.00 for that little sample-size box of powdered laundry detergent. You settle the account for $8 and $2 is returned back to the customer account after the session is complete. 

We have an additional feature for an auto-topup where if the threshold reaches $9.00, another $10.00 temp charge is put on hold. If they do not spend over $10.00, we refund the unspent version or the hold. 

Then we have the reserve that is connected to a time, space, and asset. This is also known as our UnityTX system where the time is 7pm, the place is the comedy club, and the space is table 14G. Or you rent a paddle boat at the lake and people can rent a 2-seater for 2 hours at Lake Pleasant Pier D for $20. The system can be programmed to text message the user when to pick up, return, late fee, no show fee. 

For the initial period, we will focus on transactions less than $10 total. 

AI Agents and Ledgers

We discussed this in our previous article. We will have AI agents working on business ledgers to keep them profitable. We do not need going broke businesses or just sit back and watch them go broke. If a business goes broke, then we lose money and that’s not in our best interest or our customer best interest for their business to go broke. 

The AI agents are no different than stock and financial robo-advisors that will consult businesses and entrepreneurs on how to maintain low cost and strategize for the highest value possible within their domain. 

The AI agents are more than advisors of numbers on a ledger. Some will specialize in marketing and advertising to bring customers by understanding the ledger and the community the business is serving. Another will specialize in inventory and expense and make sure products and services are being moved through the value stream to earn revenue. Another will specialize in pricing and tax strategies, so we will be having these AI agents help consult businesses on how to stay profitable. 

Things Are Going to Change Now

The first casualty of change will be Dream and Hustle - it will not be free anymore for lurkers who don’t even acknowledge or appreciate the brotha writing the articles. We will have better quality consistent articles once we switch to paid version but we will be server customers. 

Toshikiso API and our CLI will charge tokens and deduct tokens in real time and businesses need to have enough tokens to interact with Toshikiso. Digital creators will be able to conduct microtransactions and receive royalties faster with their customers to create things like podcasts, webtoons, and build up their own platforms. 

The biggest will be the rise of digital-first and AI-native micro-entrepreneurs who will be relying on AI and agents - we will be plugged into their ecosystem and make sure we can create apps and agent-support tools to creation solutions for these micro-enterprises to be able to thrive.
