Creating AI Sports Content to Generate Multi-Vector Revenue Streams
AI-driven sports media is redefining how we consume sports, offering a highly scalable model designed to keep fans hooked. The real magic lies in its ability to seamlessly bridge the gap between thrilling on-court action and the deep off-court narratives that fans crave—from training grit and locker-room setbacks to business dynamics and fan culture.
In this article, we’ll explore how you can strategically integrate this powerful multi-dimensional media model into your own digital ecosystem to build a deeply engaged audience.
Mastering AI Techniques
Before we get started, it is important to discuss how to generate frontier AI which is necessary for action-packed, high-intensity, and realistic sports scenes. We are going to do a refresher on AI prompting.
The best workflow to generate frontier AI media:
- Claude Opus 4.8 or Sonnet 5. Used for creating extremely detailed prompts for GPT Image with more parameters you cannot type as a human.
- GPT Image 2 Low or Medium. Run the Claude-generated prompt to produce your storyboard image.
- Grok Imagine or Seedance 2. Generate your video segment. Grok Imagine is actually the best overall video generator in terms of cost and quality with your X Premium account - a great bargain.
With Claude what you want to create is the “reference” sheet of everything to your sports ecosystem. I decided to create a reference sheet for a professional football stadium. Notice the prompt and Claude response.
See, you cannot write all of this from your head - you got to the chillhop cafe in Shibuya, sit down and have Claude create this for you. It may be possible to use ChatGPT or Gemini. Here is the image result by copy/paste the Claude-generate prompt into GPT Image 2 Low.
Please practice this new form of AI prompting - do not be typing random stuff in the image or video generator and waste serious tokens or credit. It is cheaper and more productive for you to get the proper detailed prompts with text AI.
Type of AI Sports Media
There are many styles of sports media. You can narrate a sports game like a sportscaster giving play-by-play announcements. Or you can create a content series based on avatars and characters.
The type of storytelling depends on the sport.
Team Sport. This is multiple players on one team versus multiple players on the opposing team. Basketball, soccer, football, baseball, rugby, volleyball are examples.
Single Person Sport. These are players not directly competing with each other, just trying to produce the highest score. Golf, gymnastics, ice skating where a score is generated based on performance.
One versus One. These are the most competitive and make the best content for sports media. MMA, wrestling, boxing, tennis, face-slapping where one person comes out on top.
First One Finish or Last One Standing. These are every person rushing to the finish line or the person that outlasts the rest. Auto racing, marathon, running track, elimination games.
Recreational Sport. This is a person versus themselves and stuff that Red Bull would sponsor. Mountain climbing, sky diving, skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, sailing the English Channel.
Pick the sport that interests you the most and reflect your self-ecosystem. Study the sport, and build a sports media content around it. The best strategy is to focus a mix of off-court action and on-court action.
The next sections will provide examples of sports media AI we are working on for MochaStar Media.
22-year-old High School Basketball Player Trying to Graduate
This story is based on a high school where social promotions were banned and students cannot age out either. The main character is a dumb ass goofy, but talented in basketball and struggling to make the grade trying to graduate for the past 5 years.
He has a sports agent that is getting tired of him not being able to get into college basketball or go straight to professional. He got female teachers who taught him since he was a freshman and now want to sleep with him, even the married teachers.
Not giving much away but you can see off-court drama of trying to pass all his exams, do his homework, distracted by older female teachers trying to give him some, juvenile kids in the classroom getting on his nerves, stop a kid from being bullied, and mentor a young dumb ass freshman just like him, as well as dunking and fouling hard on 16 and 17 year olds in high school.
Two Racing Twins Living with Separate Parents From Divorce
The two twin brothers both lived separately from each other due to the bitter divorce. One lived with his mother, the other lived with his father. Both became professional GT racers and their helicopter divorced parents are trying to live through their competition to see who raised their child better, the mother or the father.
They both compete not to win but to make one parent look better than the other. It’s a toxic and competitive racing sports media that will show the racing, the sh*t talking, the divorced parent bringing around their new lover, sabotage, car tuning, and the drive to win to save face.
This type of story definitely has a lot of on-track and off-track mess going on.
Creating Reference Sheets
It is essential when creating AI media to create reference sheets to control all aspects of the detail. On the cover image, you see Mimoka.Made.It with her golf outfit with the MochaStar logo. To create that reference, let’s go cover how it was done.
The first step is we used this photo of Dayeon, a Korean golfer:
We then created a prompt in GPT Image 2 asking to create a model sheet of the outfit and replace the logo with our MochaStar and TMS logo.
Then we use ChatGPT 2 or Seedream 4.5 to fuse Mimoka with the reference sheet to create the cover image.
You should create reference sheets for all major characters, the scene, the objects that are going to be used and need to be detailed. In your AI sports media, these can be the main character, teammates, opponents, that one crazy fan, coaches, family members, the arena or court, and the ball or javelin used.
Creating Action Scenes with Seedance 2
One thing that can be done in Seedance 2 is to draw lines to show the movement of objects or people. This was generated by Claude AI with specific instructions to draw the actions taken and Claude created this image from the description.
Do you know what action will be taken in the photo example? It’s not hard - the yellow dash line is a basketball pass to the guy and the opposing team will move to guard him from taking a 3-pointer, but the red line is the player running to the rim and perform an ally-oop dunk because the guy in the back will throw it as soon as he get the ball.
First, research your sports and the study the best moves, the big mistakes and failures, copy those sequences and work on the prompt to reproduce them as part of the content you are creating.
The Business and Revenue Model
To make money or create engagement, we have the same formula mix of webtoons, video, social media post, sponsorship and advertisement.
Webtoons. This is the best option for both cost and frequency. It is low cost to create a graphic multi-panel comic strip that people can view on their phone.
Video Shorts. At this juncture, we recommend 9:16 verticals for YouTube shorts, TikTok, and Instagram. These have been our most distributed and get the most views and keep it under 2 minutes.
AI Sports Show and Podcast. This is similar to the shows on ESPN. You can have an avatar talk about the players, throw stats around, discuss play-by-play, and give insights.
There is one more thing that can be done - create an AI sports magazine similar to the old school rap magazines like RapUp or The Source or Complex and focus on AI sports figures, the magazine can also take full page advertisements of AI sports material and real-world sports material like shoes and apparel - don’t sleep on this.
For revenue, we discussed the subscription model, advertisement before but there is one more - name and likeness deals. You can create modified reference sheets that feature the logo of a paid sponsor on some of the content.
Now here is the cool part - you can geo-target the content where if you know they are in Pittsburgh, you can show logos for the local business in that area on your content and if they are in Atlanta, show Atlanta local sponsors on the same comic strip and have parallel sponsorship generating more revenue streams at the same damn time.
AI Sports media has massive runway and content scenarios where you can literally create your own AI sports cafe with avatar shop, themed sports characters from around the world, stream their videos and sell their content via QR code.
You can create magazines and photobooks showcasing your sports avatar and in some cases, you can co-create where a Japanese AI baseball team is playing an exhibition game against your AI baseball team like some Marvel vs DC comic book and you use your own baseball stadium to host the game.
You are not going to run out of sports content and opportunities - just do it like Law and Order and rip sports stories from the headlines and capture plays and try to reproduce them for your avatar.
With AI + the self-ecosystem, the whole sports AI content world is yours and the revenue value streams are limitless.
