Get Millions of YouTube Views in Silence Being a Study/Hustle Video Diva
If you look around Black YouTubers, you will see what I explained earlier, everybody trying to run their mouth like Kevin Samuels and using toxic relationships as flame farming for clicks and views. You got this macho manosphere of Black YouTubers dissing the sistas and these unnatural Black feminists dissing the brothas for clicks and views.
You also got these simp brothas and pick-me sistas sitting in the car seat like Jaxn trying to appeal to the opposite sex with a moral authority position, bumping their gums in a camera at the Amazon warehouse parking lot on lunch break sitting in their 72-month financing car seat.
If you a smart Black sista, you don’t need to do any of that nonsense for clicks and views. You don’t have to do anything different – all you sistas have to be is that nerd/corny Black girl back in grade school your Black teacher and your Black classmates made fun of and shamed you for wanting to learn and progress.
What you can do as a sista is creating study videos like the trend going on in Asia and add a twist. That twist shows how to build an empire and how to strategize a plan to execute. In this article, we are going to talk about the background of study videos and how a sista can create her own study videos that rake in millions of YouTube monetized views.
Background
Study videos on YouTube started out with the Chill-Hop/Lo-Fi scene out of the Japanese hip-hop scene with Nujabes having the biggest influence. One of the biggest early videos was an unauthorized video loop of an anime clip from Studio Gilbli of a girl studying – Studio Ghibli came after them and created a new anime loop in the picture above and she is named Lo-Fi Girl.
These videos became known as “study-hop” and would run either live 24/7 on a loop with lo-fi tracks from independent lo-fi artists on SoundCloud. Then some would use Adobe After Effect to add additional elements from visual audio analyzers to streaming track names. There is other software that is free and can produce these same kinds of videos.
But I want to give the sistas some background that most of the sistas may not realize. This is an easy answer because you sistas going to guess – who was making these lo-fi tracks? You made a lucky guess – outside of Japan, a huge number of these lo-fi tracks were created by Black women. Go look it up. See, you ladies don’t even know what your own sistahood is doing because you caught up watching toxic relationship videos and engaged in celebrity gossip stuff.
Study with Me
Today there has been an evolution to a new paradigm of study videos and it is live-action “study with me” videos. In these videos, they are combining the sleep relaxation rain YouTube videos, the relaxation piano/jazz YouTube videos, and the live street webcam videos on YouTube. This has also come out of Japan as well – I love how Black women be having Japanese tattoos on them, have Japanese jeans, have Japanese Harajuku-neon color hairpieces but we got Black clowns talking we Afrocentric – no we not – we are Afro-Asiatic, I can show you in any Black ghetto more influences from Japan than from Africa, any day, all day.
I want you to peep at the screenshot of Abao in Tokyo study with me video – look at how many followers/views – got a million followers and 5 million videos on this one video. Go do a search on “study with me” videos and look at all the study content creators with millions of views.
It’s not difficult to know why they winning. First, Asians study hard overseas so studying videos like this is a trend, just like eating videos from Asia, especially China. So you already got a massive audience size as a sista who will create these videos from an American/European/African Black woman perspective.
Want you to notice a few more things in the video my sista – first do you see the clock? This is a study technique called Pomodoro where you have a countdown clock for 25 minutes where you study for 25 minutes and take a short break and study again. Research has shown that you are more productive in short bursts of intervals than trying to study all the way through. That is a countdown clock where he is filming himself for 25 minutes before taking a break.
Also, you see the track being displayed called “White River” that shows up – I think you can use OBS to create this type of effect to display a track being played – do some research on making chillhop video streams. I believe Abao is using music tracks from the Epidemic Sound catalog.
Next, let’s talk about the camera angle – I think a good used GoPro from the pawnshop on a short tripod can film a nice quality video while you are studying. It is not important to have background sound – you will be using royalty-free music tracks and/or your voice-over narration as well as closed-caption text in multiple languages to reach people all over the world.
So pretty much what you can do is find a nice spot to lay down your study gear and study for 25 minutes with only your hands being shown. These is called “no face” videos and there is a cottage industry of these types of videos where people quietly make money because their face is not shown and their real name is not shown except on those YouTube checks hitting that direct deposit like a PPP check from Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
Creating a New Paradigm using Black Girl Magic – Hustle
This is a picture I posted on Dream and Hustle Facebook page in 2019 (visit and follow our page) – I was compiling my notes in Tokyo at a café near Shimbashi station – you see my backpack on the right of the Surface Pro 4, my coffee on the ledge and my pastry on the tray on the right. This is a clue/hint for you sistas – you can create videos studying anywhere in the world. Name yourself “Study Diva” on YouTube to inspire young Black girls and grown Black women to be proud to study and show yourself studying in Tokyo at Starbucks Shibuya Scramble, studying in Dubai, studying in London or Paris, studying in Cape Town.
Then you don’t play slow boring piano music, play R&B “rise and grind” upbeat tracks as your background music to keep a real pace and rush. For me, I study and code to 118-124bpm electronic dance music such as trance or soulful house, or South African house music.
In Asia there is one thing missing, they don’t have entrepreneurs over there – they just study, graduate, then work a soul-sucking salary job in Korea or Japan. But an American/European/African diva like you sista, you sit down and lay out the plans to establish the strategy, blueprints to build the empire, and how to take over and keep the crown.
How you sistas can pioneer and take this to the next level in three ways:
Plan with Me Videos. These videos have you studying and working on plans using a vision board for 25 minutes, taking a break, creating a post-it brainstorming session to break it down for 25 minutes, then formulating a plan for the last 25 minutes. Many of you have seen me use FreeMind mind mapping software that is free to do some of these tasks.
Strategize with Me. These videos are where you create a summary business plan on your Surface Pro or iPad Pro, bring strategy business books to read on how to start a certain business, and take notes.
Code with Me. This is my caliber that separates the real ones from the lames – this is where you can create websites or code JavaScript or a microservice on video in 25-minute intervals – create the data model first, the mock/bogus plugin to simulate data then the UX/web layer. Personally, I will be creating these types of videos for our corporate videos to show how to do it, not talk about it. I noticed most talk code videos don’t get a lot of views on YouTube.
To create new topics to create a plan/strategy video, you can look up business models for Black women or you can accept requests in the comment section from your followers. Don’t be linear, write out a plan on how to set up a tax-free freezone digital-first operation in Dubai, and let the comment section discuss how the plan can really work and other tips to share creating a small community.
Quietly Doing Millions While Black Media Create Broke and Toxic Videos
Sista, you don’t have to let everybody know you making money – just let them see that Telsa X in the parking lot and let them see that Capitol One Venture X card at the job cafeteria. They don’t know it’s you creating a study video at your hotel in Las Vegas overlooking the Vegas strip from a weekend trip. Or from the Sable Hotel at Navy Pier in Chicago where I stayed at.
Look at all these clown Black YouTubers creating toxic relationship-talking panels where xenophobic Black women are saying women from the Philippines are uneducated and illiterate getting global backlash. Meanwhile, you a sista simply inspiring smart Black girls all over the world that studying to be a better woman for themselves is cool and to sit down in front of your YouTube videos and you both learn, build, and progress – uplifting a world of sistas from the work you put out with just your hands and a GoPro from the pawnshop.
LOL and shout out to all the mad-angry brothas and sistas creating toxic Black relationship videos then YouTube tell them they got demonetized while a nerd sista from Birmingham, UK out here creating study/hustle videos from hotels and co-working spots all over the world raking in millions of views and just bought a rental property in Portugal with her gains.
