Getting Your Third Monkey Money on with VPS Servers in the Upcoming Recession
On May 1st, 2025 I have all the indicators and writings on the wall that we are in a Recession and a bad economy. It is really bad out here just like it was in 2001 and 2008 and we will be getting to that point.
There are mixed signals but let’s cut through it all. For those of us in things like AI skills and AI ventures, diversified investments, retirement-ready – we going to be fairing okay. The problem is the faking, fronting, mediocre, goofy, social media following cats who did not appreciated what happened to folks back in the last two recessions and acted brand new.
People going to be stocking the pawn shops with all their nice stuff. I’m casually talking to recruiters and they telling me they are getting thousands of resumes for one open position. The last recession, folks was sleeping in their cars at the mall or an empty parking lot after eviction. All those nice restaurants, no one can afford to eat and they going to go down – I will tell you folks owning these restaurants to not wait, as soon as you see the decline, shut it down instead of get into debt and depression trying to be prideful keeping it open.
At this stage, you can either sink or swim. That means you better start acting like that third monkey in line to board Noah’s Ark and figure out how to get on that boat and stay above water. In this article, we are going to talk about VPS or virtual private servers and their use case to help you understand how to create revenue based on years of what we talked about here at Dream and Hustle.
We will be reselling and providing support for our upcoming VPS offerings on The Manufactured Solution shop as part of our upcoming product line. The store will offer real solutions to help yall get up and running from planning your vision and dreams to building it and fulfilling it.
What is a Virtual Private Server?
Back in the days, to run my web-based business, I would buy a physical 1U rack server computer and go to the data center and have it hooked up on 55 Marietta, a fast Internet backbone and an InterNap point. I would manage it through a Remote Desktop Connection.
Today, I can just order a virtual private server online and access it via remote desktop connection as well. So, a virtual private server is a virtual machine that is on a huge computer cluster giving you a virtual dedicated server where you can install and customized this server to run more advanced server-based applications.
See, most of the goofy cats are still in 2025 talking building a web sites with WIX, same people standing and smiling at Blavity AfroTech or watching Aton Daniels give reaction videos and fronting like he balling hard out there on business, a real comedian. Did he get a second watch or still wearing that same Rolex, just asking for a friend.
With a VPS, you have powerful computing platform to build your advanced hustles on to make that third monkey money as your side hustle or in case of a Recession, your survival hustle.
What are the Benefits of a VPS?
A VPS has several benefits for you to consider.
Uptime. Your VPS is run in a professional-grade data center and can stay running. You try to run business from your home or office and the power goes out and you lose your laptop, your business is interrupted.
Remote. You can access your remote server from anywhere – at the coffee shop in Tokyo, as a digital nomad in Thailand or Colombia, or during your lunch break at work or while you at the desk checking your mobile phone or your used $225 Surface 9 laptop you got from the pawn shop.
Build Custom Solutions. There are weakness with web sites – you cannot build scheduled jobs to download financial data and execute Python data analytics. Or create a Black Minecraft game server for South Fulton gamers. You cannot create advanced queuing and listeners for file drops on web site hosting. The VPS allow you to automate a lot of business ideas and give you the freedom to build out new business models.
Where to Get Them?
You can get a VPS from major web hosting providers around the world. Hostzinger, GoDaddy, Blue Host, etc. They should cost between $20 to $40 a month and I recommend paying for a full year upfront so you don’t worry about monthly payments – just focus on building out the hustle.
There are things to keep in mind. I would recommend getting a Windows Server VPS because it is similar to your Windows 11 so you can test your applications there, then deploy to the server when you ready. If you using Linux or Unix, you will need skills or written instructions to install most of the applications and a little more difficult. Linux or Unix should be used to run open source stuff like Kakfa streaming or Redis caching type services.
There are YouTube videos of how to get free VPS hosting and I haven’t tried them. But some of them look like they are selling demo versions with limited hours and not was free as they claim. But here is what I would do – build, run, tear down quickly on the free stuff. This means if you have a monthly e-mail newsletter you want to send out, build it up, send them out, then let it tear down and get a new one on the next newsletter broadcast.
Use Cases for a Virtual Private Server.
Let’s get advanced and straight to the point with examples of creating Dream and Hustle business models from a VPS server. Remember that these are not goofy web sites – these are platform solutions designed to help get you paid while you moved to Thailand and living in a $600/month luxury condo and living the quiet life away from the US Recession, calling your broke jobless friends back in America quietly smirking listening to them complaining about the US economy.
Email/SMS broadcasts. You can setup a email relay or use SMS APIs to run this type of messaging business such as the virtual shopping queues where someone get a text message to enter the store. Also run mailing lists like MailChimp on behalf of select clientele. Promote parties or album drops or celebrity chef dining experience with RSVP links. Handle the subscribe/unsubscribe and promote not only the message, but advertising, especially with email newsletters.
Media Distribution. This is where you can become a digital media distribution company as I described as what we doing. You can license and stream podcasts, music, videos, and eBooks as a publishing company. You can sign artists and give them a distribution deal, run newsletters and message boards, and fans pay a subscription fee. You can do this on behalf of artists or podcasters and run your own media channel.
Blockchain Service. This type of service is used for collaboration where parties can share a database to perform collective economics. This where you can create advanced digital services like buy, sell, trade digital art like NFT or license an art to be on virtual loan at a gallery charging by the day and revenue split with the artist. Or we can run a ledger that allow multiple parties join in on a group buying of products wholesale so they call can save on the lower per-unit purchase, something Black banks should do but you are doing it for the culture.
Ticketing/Coupon Hosting. There is nothing stopping you from managing ticketing services that sell tickets, reserve tables, schedule appointments for clients who just want their spots filled up. They pay you to manage the ticketing service and you charge per transaction and bill them. You let the system do all this automated while you are at the beach in Pattaya wearing big sunglasses, enjoying the sounds of beach waves and people speaking in Thai around you. You get an SMS text message from your VPS summarizing how much bread you made at the end of the day.
Stream/Cache Server Provider. These are pipeline services where you host a Kafka instance or a Redis instance and allow clients to receive streamed data messaged to process real-time data or store files in a cache that is faster to retrieve than a database lookup. This is like providing cloud-based services to clients to improve the performance of their VPS or application and you charge them like a cloud provider.
Notice the type of services that are being created with VPS, automated market maker style business models. You let the VPS schedule the email blast, automatically sign up customers through registration, trade forex automatically for your trader accounts, and all you do is get on an elephant and ride through the jungles of Thailand as your weekend pastime and let the VPS make that third monkey money on your behalf.
Move with Your VPS
Notice you keep hearing me referring to moving to Thailand. The reason I’m bringing it up because more and more Black Americans are going there as their escape plan, and a lot of Black couples are going there as well. They building up a Diaspora over there.
But as I stressed, everytime we hear about Passport Bros and Black people living overseas, they never talk about the money/income part – something we agree is important to cover. They talk like we move overseas and money just float out of the sky somewhere. Most of them in reality don’t have pockets and on fixed passive income like pensions or lawsuit/disability payout and don’t have the same revenue earning as regular folks.
This is why we are asking you to consider getting a VPS up and running as your third monkey hustle, especially as the economy continue to sour. The layoffs, lack of jobs, business closing down, crime going up, and people acting crazy and got weird beliefs and losers following YouTubers talking toxic relationship topics all the time – you want to get away from all this nonsense and take a breather, but also have a real revenue strategy to sustain yourself.
Running a VPS is a quiet way to make passive income running platform services for your client base. Remember the way folks set these things up is the revenue goes to a holding company and pays you a fixed dividend amount and you claim that as your income overseas as a strategy with taxes and assets.
We not just talking Thailand, we talking the real digital nomad life where you can hang out in Cartegena, Panama City, Dubai, Oman, South Africa, Warsaw, and more places around the world. If you got a solid partner, yall both should get VPS and both of yall work on individual plans and see which one bring in the most bread.
But what you don’t have to do is suffer here in America with no options – VPS give you that option to downsize, have a remote revenue generating system and have options to move somewhere out the country and give you the means to live and thrive overseas.
This is why my firm The Manufactured Solution will be offering our own VPS servers with support to help folks out there setup business models from Dream and Hustle. We will be offering this service to our Japanese brothas and sistas out there because my boo thang is struggling as well with this same problem.
Start looking into VPS and don’t wait until you out of a job and bills coming in and you too broke to watch Aton Daniels flex like he rich while you trying to find new money to decide to get a VPS going – better get that stuff started now because bad economies ain’t a joke.
